MISSION STATEMENT
Interior Community Services enriches the lives of individuals and families
by providing integrated family support, individual life skills development,
and safe, nurturing home environments designed to assist people to live to
their potential in the community. |
RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS
Street Services
Street Services offers
non-residential, support services and short-term residential stays (14 days) for
youth. Street Services encourages youth to make safe, responsible choice in
order to work towards creating positive changes in their lives. The Safe House
is for youth 13 to 18 years of age, who are in need of a safe place to stay or
who require support or assistance are eligible for the program. This is a
self-referral program that is open and staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Services are provided to assist those who are street involved adopt a healthier
lifestyle.
Acadia Place
Acadia Place is a residential youth transition program for
young people between the ages of 17 and 24. The program is designed to assist
youth in making the transition to responsible adulthood through mentoring and an
opportunity to learn and practice a variety of life skills. The Program offers
a broad array of supports to Participants that may include, but is not limited
to: weekly group meetings, Conflict Resolution, Mentorship, Community Kitchens,
drug and alcohol counseling and Safe Spaces.
Support to Family Care Network
The Support to Family
Care Network is intended to support foster parents in a variety of capacities
including education, enhanced communication, networking and crisis response.
Also, this regional program works collaboratively with the Ministry of Children
and Family Development to attract prospective family caregivers. Foster Parents
who have a Family Care Home Agreement or a valid respite/relief contract with
the Ministry of Children and Family Development are eligible to participate in
this program. Regularly updated Foster Parent lists are provided to Interior
Community Services. This program is self-referral.
