Skills Development and Community Inclusion

Bill 2Skills Development and Community Inclusion provide short term and ongoing educational opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities.  Examples of life skills taught include the use of public transportation, meal preparation and community/social connections.  This program is designed to encourage individuals to live to their full potential within their home and community.  Referrals are made through Community Living British Columbia.

 

 

Options and Opportunities

OptionsOptions & Opportunities is an adult day program providing support to people with physical and developmental disabilities.  We are a recreational, leisure, community access and health lifestyles program.  Hours of operation are 8:45 am-2:30pm Monday to Friday.  Referrrals and made through Community Living British Columbia and self referral.  Any adult 19 years and older can access Options & Opportunities Day Program. 

 

 

Home Support

Home SupportHome Support is a community support program where home care is provided by trained Home Support Workers including personal care and housekeeping.  Any community member is eligible for this program.  Referrals are made through Community Livng BC.

 

 

COMMUNITY LIVING RESIDENTIAL OPPORTUNITIES 

 Barriere House

Barriere House is a home for adults with developmental disabilities who require an increased level of personal care.  It is a licensed facility for six residents and one respite bed.  The respite bed is used on a regular basis and all individuals using the bed are approved through our funder, Community Living British Columbia.  An important aspect of Barriere House is that the residents are able to age in place and transition through the death and dying process in their own home if medically able.

      

 

Centennial House

Centennial HouseCentennial House is an independent home for adults with developmental disabilities.  Home support services can be available during the day to support the individual needs of the residents.  Any adult with developmental disabilities is eligible to live in this home.  Referrals are made through Community Living British Columbia. 

 

 

Desmond House

Desmond HouseDesmond House is an independent home for six adults living with diverse health needs.  This home is located in a quiet north shore community and has one staff available twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, to provide support to the program.  Referrals are made through the Interior Health Authority and/or Interior Community Services.

 

 

6th Avenue

Interior Community Services owns an apartment complex with 5 - 2 bedroom units located in downtown Kamloops.  ICS maintains these apartments as afforable units.
