Kamloops Early Language and Literacy Initiative (KELLI)

Early language parents and children readingThe Kamloops Early Language and Literacy Initiative (KELLI) believes that parents are their children's most important teacher in the early years; therefore, KELLI provides early literacy information, programs and events for families with children from birth to age 5 in Kamloops and area.  Our goal is that children will enter school with the skills they need to have early success and a life long love of learning.

Literacy Outreach

Street School is an adult continuing education program designed for learners who are unlikely to attend school in a structured or traditional academic setting.  Street School provides an opportunity for students to learn basic literacy skills and acquire accredited high school courses that can be used towards a grade 12 adult dogwood diploma.  Courses are free and self paced. The school offers individualized instruction, self-esteem building, one to one tutoring, flexible hours, and a hot lunch/breakfast program.  In addition to academics, students will have the opportunity to receive support in accessing community resources and services if needed.  Street School is offered in partnership with School District No. 73.
