Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a community support program providing the home delivery of nutritious meals for persons who may require nutritional support or whose circumstances makes it difficult to prepare their own meals. Meals on Wheels is available to any and all persons, regardless of age or income. A minimum of one week on the program is required to determine if Meals on Wheels is a good fit for you. The meals are delivered on Tuesday and Thursday between 10 am & 2 pm by a group of dedicated volunteers. Each meal contains soup or salad, entrée, dinner roll and dessert. The cost of each meal provided by the Kamloopsand area Meals on Wheels is $6.00
Community Kitchens
Community Kitchens is a community support program assisting groups of people to create their own community kitchens where they can prepare 3 to 5 nutritious and economical meals for themselves and their families. Assistance with planning meals, shopping, budgeting and cooking is available. Anyone can join this program and everyone is welcome.
Community Gardens
Kamloops Community Gardens are fenced subdivisions of land sectioned into individualized plots enabling people to grow and eat healthy, nutritious foods at a low cost. There are a number of plots available within the City of Kamloops that are rented to the public for a reasonable fee. Water is supplied and gardeners supply their own equipment and seeds.
